Culture Group - An experience of the Ghanaian way of life: Die erforderlichen Musikinstrumente

Der Grundbaustein einer jeden Culture Group ist natürlich das Drumset.

Mit am flexibelsten einzusetzen ist dabei das Drumset des "Ewe"-Stamms, weshalb es auch am häufigsten in den Culture Groups verwendet wird. Mit den "Ewe-Drums" lassen sich die meisten Tänze begleiten.

Aus diesem Grund scheint uns das Drumset am besten geeignet zu sein.

Naturally, the basic element of every Culture Group is the Drumset.

One of the most adaptable is the drumset of the Ewe tribe, preferred by almost all Culture Groups. With these Ewe Drums most dances can be accompanied.

That is why we consider this Drumset to be suitable for us as well.

Dieses Set kostet 550 GHC, was umgerechnet 230 Euro sind und der erste Schritt Richtung Culture Group besteht nun darin, dieses Drumset zu erwerben.

This set costs 550 GHC which is 230 Euros. To acquire it is now the first stept towards establishing our Culture Group.

Über uns - About us

Für alle, die uns noch nicht kennen, wollen wir uns und die Hintergründe dieses Blogs kurz vorstellen.

Unsere Teamleitung besteht aus Emmanuel Abraham und John Richmond Arthur, die seit einigen Jahren als Lehrer an der Methodist High School aktiv sind, sowie Franziska Legler, Saskia Metz und Alina Kelle, drei frisch gebackene Abiturientinnen, die momentan im schönen Cape Coast, Ghana, leben.

Im Rahmen des Internationalen Jugendfreiwilligendienstes (IJFD) gibt uns die Entsendeorganisation VIA e.V. die Möglichkeit, für 12 Monate als Freiwillige an Grundschulen des Methodist Cluster of Schools zu arbeiten. Dieses ist in 5 Komplexe, bestehend aus drei Primary Schools (Klasse 1-6), einer Junior High School und einer Special Needs School, unterteilt. Wir sind jeweils in den drei Primary Schools untergebracht, sodass wir den ghanaischen Schulalltag mit seinen vielen Facetten miterleben dürfen.

Der Interkulturelle Austausch besteht dabei aus einem Nehmen und Geben. Bereits in den letzten drei Monaten konnten wir neue Erfahrungen und Eindrücke gewinnen und haben sehr viel Neues, vor allem von den Kindern, dazu gelernt. Gleichzeitig versuchen auch wir ihnen mit unserer Arbeit etwas geben zu können.

Auf Grund gleicher Motivation und gemeinsamen Interessen haben wir Fünf nun zueinander gefunden, woraus unsere Projektidee der Culture Group entstanden ist.

About Us

For everybody who doesn't know us yet we would like to briefly introduce ourselves and the backgrounds of this blog.

Our team management consists of Emmanuel Abraham and John Richmond Arthur who for some years are active as teachers at Methodist High School as well as Franziska Legler, Saskia Metz and Alina Kelle, three young high-school graduates living for one year in the beautiful town of Cape Coast, Ghana.

Within the limits of the International Youth Voluntary Service (IJFD) the dispatching organisation VIA e.V. gives us the possibility to work for 12 months as volunteers at primary schools belonging to the Methodist Cluster of School which is made up of five complexes, consisting of three primary schools (class 1-6), one Junior High School and a Special Needs School. We, Franziska, Saskia and Alina, visit these primary schools so that we may experience Ghanaian everyday school life with all its facets.

Intercultural exchange for us means give-and-take. Over of the last three months we already could gain much in terms of experiences and impressions and have learnt a lot, above all from the children. At the same time we are trying to have them benefit from our work.

Based on equal motivation and common interests we - the five - have found to each other and hatched this our project idea: the Culture Group.
